RRSP DEADLINE LOOMING…GOT QUESTIONS?
WE HAVE ANSWERS!

CFP Professionals hit the airwaves and are available to help Canadians tune up their financial plans

Toronto, February 13, 2006 — Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) invites Canadians to tune in and tune up their financial plans this February (18th, 19th, 25th, 26th). CFP® (Certified Financial Planner®) professionals will be hitting the airwaves in seven cities across Canada to answer questions on financial planning, retirement savings, personal taxes, life insurance, education savings plans, estate planning - and more.

CFP professionals will participate in one-hour ask-the-expert style radio shows in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Some of the shows can also be heard live online at www.cfp-ca.org - where you can also access the Schedule of Radio Talk Shows.

These and other CFP professionals are available for additional media interviews and opportunities throughout Canada.

COMPREHENSIVE CONSUMER INFORMATION CAMPAIGN: This program is part of FPSC's ongoing consumer information campaign to help empower Canadians to make informed choices about their financial affairs. The FPSC website includes features such as: consumer education resources including brochures (also in print); tips and guidance on what to consider when hiring a professional financial planner; "Find a CFP Professional" (a search feature helping Canadians begin their search for a planner in their area); "Ask an Expert" (where CFP professionals answer questions sent by e-mail); and a special section focused on educating youth. Additionally FPSC has a roster of more than 160 CFP professionals from across Canada who volunteer their time and are available to present educational seminars at schools.

Internationally recognized, CFP certification represents the highest standards in financial planning competency and ethics. In absence of regulation in most provinces, Canadians can trust that the CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®) and certification marks - awarded and regulated in Canada by FPSC - distinguishes professionals who are trained and are competent in the delivery of financial planning advice and service.

Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1995 to foster professionalism in personal financial planning. FPSC develops and enforces the highest standards in financial planning competency and ethics for individuals who hold the CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®) in Canada. There are currently almost 17,000 CFP professionals in Canada and more than 94,000 individuals who have earned CFP certification in 18 countries around the world. See www.cfp-ca.org for more information.
